I don’t know about you but I find it hard to believe that we’re quickly approaching the end of the year. That means it’s also time for my annual Gamer Crash awards, where I spotlight some of my favorite games from the past year.
The awards are kicking off next week and running till the end of the year. For 2018, I have four categories: Best Soundtrack, Biggest Surprise, Best Download/Indie, and of course, Game of the Year. I’ll fully admit that I haven’t played every single game that has launched this year, so there’s a very real possibility that games you expect to see on a particular list won’t be there. Still, it’s always a blast putting these lists together and I want to hear from you as well so feel free to list out your own favorites in the comments.
I also wanted to take a moment to discuss a few housekeeping items. Obviously, the holidays mean studios are shut down as well. Because of that and the lack of video content coming out for the next few weeks, this weekend will be the last Video Round Up post of 2018. The feature will be taking its normal hiatus until it returns later in January…or if there’s a sudden rush of trailers.
Even without the Round Up around, I’m still planning my usual slate of non-award articles like the 2019 video game look ahead, and then in later January, the monthly Now Arriving post, and the revised Gamer Crash Awards where I add in 2018 games that I was able to finally get to post-awards. I’d also like to talk about Super Smash Bros Ultimate as I’ve been massively enjoying my time with it lately. There’s a lot to dissect.
And with that, I’d like to wish you all a Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. I hope your holiday season is the best one yet. Thanks for stopping by to read my stuff, I do appreciate it and you for choosing to spend your time here.
