Star Wars Battlefront 2 Delivers a Knockout Trailer

Since its official reveal last spring, I’ve been cautiously optimistic for Star Wars Battlefront II. The first game, while fine, didn’t manage to capture the magic of the original games in the franchise, which was a letdown. From the moment the sequel was revealed, you could feel that DICE was well aware of the first game’s shortcomings and made a strong effort to correct those problems.

The biggest addition for many is the inclusion of what looks to be an epic single-player campaign, something fans desperately wanted from the first game. In a cool twist, you actually play on the Imperial side as the leader of Inferno Squad. Basically, these guys are the elite spec ops unit for the Empire, and you’ll follow their adventure from the end of Return of the Jedi, through to the current movies.

The hype train is now full steam ahead for me however as earlier this week a new trailer appeared online and basically gave a rundown of everything this game has to offer at launch. John Boyega provided the narration as well, which was a super cool thing to do seeing as an innocent tweet from the movie star regarding the previous game really highlighted the need for a campaign.

So why am I so excited? Content! I’ll let you watch the video for yourselves because it is damn cool, but some things really stuck out to me. Battlefront 2 has triple the number locations, heroes, and vehicles for players to utilize. Not only that, nearly everything has been rebuilt from the ground up including a progression system, character classes that can be customized, and much more.

If you want to get a good sense of what this latest entry is bringing to the table (including free DLC this time!), check this trailer out. Let me know what you think after you’ve seen it.
