Under normal circumstances, this post is where I congratulate you for making it through the busy spring release schedule and comment that we’re now entering into the summer drought. Even without a ton of AAA franchises this month, I don’t think the games industry got the memo that it’s typically slow this time of year.

For many, this month features the long-awaited return of many classic franchises. Those that grew up under the PlayStation banner, it doesn’t get much bigger than Crash Bandicoot, who makes his PS4 debut with a loving remaster of his first three titles in the “N. Sane Trilogy.” Psychonauts is also back this month, though this experience is limited to those with PlayStation VR.

Fans of the beloved Valkyria Chronicles can also revisit the franchise when its spiritual successor, Valkyria Revolution, arrives towards the end of the month as well.

If you’re someone that’s into racing games, there’s quite a diverse selection for you in June with DiRT 4 leading the way. It’s followed by the movie tie-in Cars 3, dirt bike racer, MXGP 3, and a return of the futuristic racing series WipEout. If you’re into small things, the classic franchise, Micro Machines also makes its debut later this month as well.
