The video game release train continues on into May which also features a packed and unrelenting release schedule. I hope you’ve all prepped your wallets because there are a lot of good things to look forward to. Let’s take a closer look at what’s coming to us in May.
Fans of competitive shooters should be excited this month because two games that have been heavily (and sometimes unfairly) compared are releasing as kind of bookend to the month. First up is Battleborn, a self proclaimed hero shooter that comes from the Borderlands folks at Gearbox Software. While this game places a bigger focus on multiplayer and character progression, fans of the Borderlands series should note that Battleborn does feature a single player campaign, loot, and lots and lots of co-op fun.
The other elephant in the room arrives towards the end of the month with Overwatch, the first new IP from Blizzard in quite a while. Overwatch is a multiplayer shooter with a very diverse and colorful cast of characters featuring all the charm and humor you’d expect out of Blizzard.
Even though Mirror’s Edge Catalyst got bumped into June, there’s plenty of other things for players to sink their teeth into as well such as DOOM, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and more!
