Saturday Video Round Up: February 28 – March 5

I don’t know why but there was a flood of new video content. With March now upon us, the release schedule has gotten somewhat bigger, with many big name titles hitting store shelves very soon. It’s a massive week for trailers and gameplay videos folks, so crank up that volume and enjoy!

It’s been a long time in the making but The Division is officially set to deploy next week and Ubisoft has been wasting no time in making sure people are aware of this game. After a wildly successful open beta test, there has been what seems to be an endless stream of trailers and content. This week is no different as there are three new trailers for you to check out including the launch trailer, and Ubisoft’s first year of content plans.

Nintendo also hit the scene hard this week with a new Nintendo Direct focused on what fans can expect on both the WiiU and 3DS for at least the first half of 2016. I say first half because no new information about The Legend of Zelda WiiU was given. Ultimately though, yes, there are still games coming out for the WiiU this year so the console isn’t dead quite yet.

I’ve also got new videos for Mortal Kombat XL, Battleborn, Star Fox Zero and so much more after the break, so come check out this week’s batch of trailers!

Fun Fact: that Metroid Federation Force trailer got a ton of downvotes before Nintendo disabled that feature on the video. While I think it’s kind of silly for fans to be reacting like this to a game that might actually turn out to be fun, I do think that Nintendo would have been better-off publishing this game as a new IP instead of trying to tie it into the Metroid series.

Metroid fans want a return to form for the series, not some out-of-place space sports game.

    • Haha why am I not surprised. That game has been judged by fans so no matter how good the game is, it has already been tainted.

With that said, I completely agree with you about spinning off the name because when fans see Metroid, and absolutely a name like Metroid Prime, there are certain expectations that need to be met. I have to think Nintendo learned a hard lesson about this and hopefully it’s one they can correct soon if rumors are true.
