Nintendo Direct Recap for November 5

With Nintendo finally gaining some traction and momentum leading up to it’s major release, Super Smash Bros WiiU, in a couple weeks, the House of Mario decided to unleash a brand new Direct video showing off what fans can expect from the company going forward. The biggest question remains, once Smash Bros is out in the wild, how does Nintendo keep the ball rolling?

Lets find out:

The Mask Returns
Arguably the biggest news out of this video is the news that Nintendo is planning on releasing a 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Nintendo has been teasing this one for a while so it’s nice to finally see the payoff. Majora’s Mask is targeting a Spring 2015 launch.

More Mario Kart
Eager to get some more content for Mario Kart 8? Nintendo has finally revealed the details for the upcoming DLC this month, affectionately known as the Zelda DLC. The DLC will be hitting next week on November 13 and is coming with three characters, eight tracks, and two new karts. Link, Cat Peach and Tanooki Mario are all being added to the game’s already large character roster along with the Master Cycle and Blue Falcon karts. In addition to five new Mario themed race tracks, Nintendo has also created three tracks based around some of their other franchises like Hyrule Circuit, Excitebike Stadium, and Muty City from F-Zero.

Amiibo News
Nintendo is really ramping up Amiibo support, confirming that both Hyrule Warriors and Mario Kart 8 have been updated to now work with those Nintendo figures. Using the first wave of Amiibo releases with Mario Kart 8 will unlock special racing suits for your Mii characters in the game. Hyrule Warriors will grant players material, rupees, or weapon. Scanning Link will grant the Spinner, and item from Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. Nintendo also revealed that upcoming games like Mario Party 10, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Yoshi’s Wooly World, and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker will also support Amiibo.

New Smash Bros News
Well, not really ‘new’ considering that the 3DS version has been out, but Nintendo formally announced the Duck Hunt Dog being added to the Smash roster.
