May has finally rolled around and while the pattern of a lighter release schedule isn’t changing, May does bring a couple of high profile and highly anticipated games to store shelves.
It may be due to how new the consoles still are but if you’re expecting a release schedule like we’ve had the past couple of years, then I’m afraid you’ll be a bit disappointed again. Releases are still trickling out at a slower than normal pace but hopefully as more people buy in and developers get more comfortable, we’ll be getting a more consistent flow. One thing is for sure, it wouldn’t surprise me to have a worse than usual summer drought in terms of releases. With how spaced out games are these days for the new consoles, I wouldn’t expect a major push at least this year to change that. As I mentioned above, it’s not all doom and gloom as there’s still a number of games to get excited for including Watch_Dogs and Wolfenstein: The New Order to name a few.
