Rayman Legends Detailed and Dated For Next Gen Systems

Rayman Legends was one of my favorite games from last year and now we’re getting an updated version for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Prepare for more platforming madness!

Alright, so lets say you’ve already played Legends. What’s so new and special about this version?

For starters, the already gorgeous visuals have gotten a boost with the new horsepower at Ubisoft’s disposal. Legends will feature even sharper and cleaner visuals thanks to no compressed textures which were in place on other platforms. What excites me is that load times have been eradicated. When you jump into a painting, the level will begin immediately.

Legends will also contain a number of new characters to unlock in the Hero Gallery including ones inspired by other Ubisoft franchises like Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.

In terms of console specific additions, Xbox One will feature timed-exclusive achievements in addition to the normal slate. These special achievements will be based around player skills and challenges such as Kung Foot or co-op play. They’ll typically be available for only a week.

On the PS4 side, the touch pad now grants players the ability to enter “camera mode” where the game will pause and allow you to zoom in and out, and pan to adjust the frame. With this feature you should be able to grab some great shots to use the share button with. Not only that, the touch pad can be used to scratch those lucky tickets. The final addition for the PS4 version is the ability to play the game remotely on the PS Vita. So if someone is hogging the TV, you can boot the game up and continue to play on your Vita.

Rayman Legends is set to release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 18
