Originally announced as a PC expansion to the popular dungeon crawling and loot hunting title, Diablo III, Blizzard has announced that the game’s first expansion, Reaper of Souls, will indeed be hitting Playstation 4 consoles as well sometime in 2014.
Better yet, this edition will be making it’s public debut at BlizzCon 2013. Players will be able to battle through the decimated streets of Westmarch while smashing foes with the flail and shield of the Crusader class. Blizzard has also confirmed that the PlayStation 4 version of the game will utilize new social features along with the touchpad on the DualShock 4 controller, so players will get to experience that for the first time at BlizzCon as well.
While that is great news, I’m curious to know if this will be a timed release or if Blizzard does indeed plan on bringing at least the DLC content over to 360/PS3 owners eventually. What also isn’t very clear is if the Reaper of Souls content will be already packaged on the disc in a sort of special edition or if the game will release prior to the expansion forcing PS4 gamers to download the content down the road.
