Bungie Giving Gamers Access To Destiny Sooner Than You Think

If you’re like me then you can’t wait to get some hands on time with Bungie’s new franchise (and first since leaving Halo to 343) Destiny.  It’s certainly an ambitious project mixing a lot of elements together such as loot, space travel, first person shooting and seamless multiplayer elements mixed in. With rumors recently swirling around the news of a beta, Bungie has finally spilled the beans and admitted that there will indeed be a very public beta happening in early 2014.

Instead of offering only a handful of maps for players to continually play on which they’ve done in the past with games like Halo 3 and Halo Reach, Bungie is preparing the beta to act more like a full-blown release. To ensure they really stress the system and servers, Bungie is planning to push the Destiny beta as much as it can on a more massive scale, inviting millions of players to try out the game. Currently, no specific date is set for the beta, but it should be happening early in 2014 before the eventual Spring 2014 launch.

So the big question you’re probably asking is: How can I gain access? While I’m sure there will be many opportunities through giveaways, contests, and the like, for now, you can guarantee access by simply preordering the game at select locations. For those of you ahead of the curve and have already preordered the upcoming shooter, Bungie has said you should be receiving a code via email. If you want a master list of places with the beta visit here. Lastly, once you have a code, visit the beta page here and follow the instructions. See you in the stars!
