So you’ve overcome the infection or at least dealt with it the best you could, you’ve ranked your multiplayer character up and now you’re looking for something new to do? Luckily for you, Naughty Dog is ready to start detailing new downloadable content on the way for The Last of Us. Lets have a look at what you can expect from all three DLC packs.
First up is the Abandoned Territories Map Pack and it’s exactly what it sounds like. You’ll be gaining four additional maps for the multiplayer component of the game. Most of the maps seem to have a dynamic element within it including randomized dust storms in the “Suburbs” map, wild giraffes roaming around the “Bus Depot” map, an eerie moonlit night map on the “Hometown” map, and a multilevel tight quarters map on the “Bookstore” map. Thankfully, you won’t have to wait long as this DLC will become available on October 15.
The second content pack is probably what most of you are going to be looking for. Naughty Dog is going to be releasing new single player content featuring an all new main character. They’ve confirmed that they’ve just wrapped up the casting process for this unnamed character and they’re looking to release this content sometime in December-January. Unfortunately, no additional details were given.
Lastly, the third piece of major DLC content is heading back into the multiplayer side of the game but since it’s not planned for release until sometime in 2014, not much is known about it quite yet.
The final piece of information given in this update is that Season Pass holders will be given a nice little bonus. Naughty Dog is going to be adding 60 head items for free for you Season pass holders, or for a small sum in case you don’t have the season pass. All in all, these items will push the total savings of the season pass to a whooping 75% off buying everything individually. That’s some impressive savings for you thrifty shoppers out there and some good news for those of you who want more Last of Us in your life.
oh cool looking forward to the single player DLC. FYI 3rd paragraph, Naughty Dog spelt without the Y. I wonder what the cost will be
Ah, stupid keyboard. (it’s always the keyboards fault, never mine 🙂 )
My guess on price would be 15 bucks US as that seems to be the going rate for non-map pack type DLC. Still, I could be off.
Oh totally dude my keyboard does the same thing 🙂
Not bad. I really am looking forward to it
