Warning! Do Not Install Grand Theft Auto V’s ‘Play’ Disk On Xbox 360

While the Grand Theft Auto V reviews hit the web hard yesterday, more news also came out which you Xbox 360 players may want to know.

While the game requires an initial 8GB mandatory install, you should take care to not install the game’s other disk known as the “Play” disk. As it turns out, doing so will cause performance issues with the game including texture and object pop in. Playstation users do not need to worry about this due to the blu-ray disk. Rockstar has also confirmed this as well over on their support Twitter account.

If you need some visual proof, the folks over at Digital Foundry have put together a pretty compelling video. In it, you can see background objects like light poles, trash cans, and other items popping in midway through the scene. While it’s not game breaking by any stretch, it is very noticeable and distracting. Here’s the video:
