The more I see of Rayman Legends, the more I absolutely need to get my hands on it. While I found Rayman Origins to be a fantastic and wonderful platformer, Ubisoft Montpellier seems to have just pulled out all the stops to make Legends even better.
Take the music based levels for example. They’ve already shown off Eye of the Tiger by Survivor and that sweet, face-meltingly awesome Castle Rock level at E3 2012. These music levels are all about speed and rhythm with the music acting as a guide for the player. They look quite fun and remind me of the old Treasure levels from Origins. Today Ubisoft showed off an underwater music level set to the tune of “Woo Hoo” by The 220.127.116.11.’s. You may also remember this song from a little movie known as Kill Bill Vol 1.
Thankfully, you won’t have to wait too much longer for all this platforming goodness as Ubisoft announced a demo for the game coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 next week on August 20. Take heart for this is no mere demo, you’re actually getting a lot of content to sink your teeth into. The demo features three different maps including Teensies in Trouble and Toad Story, along with their Invasion Mode (level remix) map, and a fan-favorite musical map known as Castle Rock. The demo will also include access to the Gallery of Heroes where players can swap costumes of their character, and various trailers for the game.
Bring it on Ubisoft, I’m ready.
