Just as the sun rises each morning, so to does a new Call of Duty at the end of every year. Activision confirmed yesterday that 2013 will be no different to no one’s surprise.
Before you write off this new game from Infinity Ward as just another cog in the machine or a new Modern Warfare title, there appears to be some new things going on here that may just warrant your attention.
The new title this year will be called Call of Duty: Ghosts and interestingly enough, it represents a fresh start for the series. While little to no details were given, Infinity Ward has gone on record with a few small details. With Ghosts you’re getting a new story, a new setting to play around in, new characters, and even a new engine for the next generation versions of the game. That’s right, the Modern Warfare storyline is finally over. No gameplay has been shown off at this time, but it has been confirmed that Ghosts will be featured on May 21 at the Microsoft console reveal event.
For now, here’s the teaser trailer:
Call of Duty: Ghosts is scheduled to hit November 5, 2013 on the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and next generation consoles. What’s interesting to note here is that there’s no mention of the WiiU. Surprising and also something that we’ll have to keep an eye on going forward.
