20 Minutes of Awesome: Shadowrun Returns Alpha Footage

Shadowrun is a game that I have no connection to, missing out on the many titles that have come out over the years but I do know it’s held in high regard by fans of the franchise.  Armed with that knowledge, I’ve taken a closer look at Hairbrained Scheme’s upcoming Shadowrun Returns and it’s no surprise that it absolutely crushed it’s Kickstarter goal.  The game is looking great and to help satisfy the extreme craving fans have for the upcoming title, a 20 minute first look gameplay video has been released.

To help protect against story spoilers, the below footage is of a side-mission so fear not.  You’ll get a good look at the game’s Free Move mode where you’re allowed to walk around and interact with the people and environment and also the turn based combat sections as well.  It reminds me of a mix between XCOM and also the old school Fallout games.  Very cool and well deserved with that Kickstarter total. What’s interesting is that the game was created by the same Editor that will be shipping with the actual game once it’s released.  I find that to be pretty cool that the developers are handing over those same tools to let you create and share.

So join up with Jordan Weisman and Mitch Gitelman as they give you an extended look at the upcoming isometric RPG, Shadowrun Returns.

  1. This looks so fun. I wouldn’t have heard about it if you hadn’t posted this, so thanks!

I agree, I started following this project and after seeing this video I knew I had to share it with you all. Definitely a game to keep your eyes on.
