Rockstar Finally Confirms Grand Theft Auto V Release Window

Through all of the leaks and rumors, Rockstar has finally gone on record to put the chatter to rest.  While a big reveal is coming sometime this month, Grand Theft Auto V is being prepped for the Xbox 360 and PS3 for Spring 2013. If you’re so inclined, pre-orders will begin for the game on November 5 as well.  I know, not the detailed date you were expecting, but it’s a start right?

Rockstar also provided a few scraps of detail about the game itself during this announcement.  Sam Houser, one of the founders of Rockstar, confirmed that the game will be set in Los Santos and will also be the largest GTA game they’ve ever done.  They’re taking everything they’ve learned from open world games and are incorporating it into GTAV’s design.  Revealed via promotional items that have leaked out before the November 5 date, we also know that other locations like Vinewood Hills, Del Perro Pier, Grapeseed, and Vespucci Canals will also be included.  I let you figure out the real world equivalents of those fictional places.

It’s also worth noting that Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version and has only said that they’re working on getting the console versions up and running.  Not to say one is never coming, but for now it looks like you PC players will have a longer wait to endure.

  1. Any word on the main character yet?

Nope, nothing quite yet. There is supposed to be a big reveal this month sometime so I’d have to imagine that we’ll get all the information then.

The rumors going around point to the game possibly having multiple lead characters so I guess we’ll have to wait and see if that’s true or not.
