Merry Christmas to those of you celebrating today. Alright, I’ve toyed with your emotions long enough. So, who did I pick for the best of the best for this year? One could say he snuck in and assassinated the competition.
Winner revealed after the jump…
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood!
I still find it amazing that when Ubisoft announced this game earlier this year, I had no interest in it. The more I saw from it though, the higher up it climbed on my must buy list. If you loved Assassin’s Creed 2, there should be no hesitation about this one. You get everything from that game and so much more. The amount of things you can do in this game is just staggering. The main story line will still take you a good 10-12 hours but once you factor in all of the side quests, collectables, assassination contracts, secret locations and managing your brotherhood of assassin’s, you’re looking at a considerably longer game. All of it plays wonderfully and Ubisoft even managed to mix up the game play a bit so the missions do not feel the same. One mission may have you tail someone without being spotted while another will have you dress as the guards and lead them to their destination without taking them the wrong way and blowing your cover. In addition each mission has a challenge that adds replayability and increases the difficulty of the mission. This is completely optional which is great as well. Factor in a completely unique and fun multiplayer side and you have an All-Star package worth every penny in an already outstanding franchise. I never thought multiplayer was necessary in Assassin’s Creed but after playing this one, I’m certainly glad they put it in.
I know I haven’t reviewed it and honestly, I don’t know if i ever will due to the increasing backlog of games that’s appearing for me, but if I did you could be sure that this is a 5/5 easily. I highly recommend this one.
